CG MarblingX 919 (AF148861) was the first Akaushi female to be born at Christensen Genetics. When she came here as an embryo, all I knew was that she was sired by Big Al, and that was about the only name in the breed I knew!
919's first series of flushes were to the polled Akaushi stud King David. Demand for the embryo transfer pregnancies from 919 was unprecedented, and changed the direction of our program.
The first crop of calves from 919 included the next generation donors CG Polled Queen 0088 and CG Daisy Crockett 0099, as well as the featured Christensen Genetics stud, CG Davy Crockett 1001 PLD.
In December of last year, we ran a carcass ultrasound on all of our donors. 919 is our highest marbling Akaushi donor, as well as having the highest ribeye area per pound of body weight of all of our donors.
In addition to her excellent carcass characteristics, 919 is an excellent embryo producer, with perfect feet, a tight udder, and a modest 1250 lb mature size.
